Formerly wild stallion named "Horse of the Year"

Posted: Updated:

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has named a local stallion "Horse of the Year."

Sutter is a beautiful palomino stallion, living his sunset years at a wild horse sanctuary in Lompoc.

He was born wild in Nevada 30 years ago, and then was captured and treated inhumanely in his youth.

Once rescued, he was marked as dangerous, but over the years Sutter learned to trust people and now serves as an ambassador for wild horses.
