Images of a "werewolf" and other strange creatures captured by trail camera

Police in Gardner, Kansas expected their trail cameras to take photos of coyotes, foxes and raccoons. They got something much different.

Officers were contacted about a mountain lion possibly being in the area of Celebration Park. Police said they put out two trail cameras to check for activity.

"It's not impossible for there to be a mountain lion in this area because there have been reports in the past," said Gardner Police Lt. Lee Krout.

They posted on Facebook that they didn't see a mountain lion, but they did see a coyote, a raccoon and other wildlife, and they were surprised by some of the other images captured by the cameras.

"Immediately made me laugh," said Krout, who reviewed the trail camera pictures. "I immediately called a couple of other people in the room and said, 'Hey, you gotta see this.'"

They found multiple photos of people dressed in costumes in front of the cameras.

Police said they're not looking for the people involved because they didn't cause any damage or even leave any trash behind.

Daytime highs for the interior valleys are backing off from triple digits on Monday. Temperatures for California Valley and Shandon will get close to 100 degrees on Monday, but right now daytime highs will range from the upper 80s to upper 90s. High pressure over the area is moving to the east, which is allowing for those interior valleys to cool down this week. However, with extremely dry live and dead fuel paired with gusty onshore winds, fire weather danger remains to be of concern...
