SLO Ballet presents "A Christmas Carol" this weekend

Posted: Updated:

Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim all come to life in SLO Ballet’s production of “A Christmas Carol.”

“All of the dancers except for Old Scrooge, are local and professionals,” Artistic Director Theresa Slobodnik said.

Michelle McLaughlin dances the role of Belle, the young woman to whom Scrooge was engaged many decades back. Though there’s no narration, watching the two dance makes clear his life could have been much happier.

“That's why we're called Ballet Theatre,” Slobodnik said. “We love telling stories. We are passionate about classic ballet and we love telling these amazing, human stories with our art form.”

There are two performances left. One Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. and a matinee Sunday at 2:00 p.m., both at the Spanos Theatre on the Cal Poly Campus.
