SLO Symphony to perform Mozart Sunday in the Mission

Posted: Updated:

If you've never experienced music in the Mission in downtown San Luis Obispo, do yourself a favor Sunday afternoon and stop by.

The San Luis Obispo Symphony is presenting an all-Mozart  chamber orchestra concert.

They'll perform the Symphony No. 29 in "A" major, the Divertimento in "D" major, .. and more.

The acoustics perfectly match the music. After all, the Mission, built in 1772, was under construction at the same time Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was doing some of his best work.

"No matter who you are, you've probably heard bits of it throughout your life," explains violinist and board member, Pam Dassenko.  "It's some of the greatest music ever written, so I think almost anyone can really enjoy it and appreciate it."

"The Magic of Mozart in the Mission" concert starts at 3:00 p.m., Sunday January 15 at the Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa.
