A Portland, Oregon woman and her pet snake are okay after a frightening ordeal.

"It's unbelievable to me," says Ashley Glawe.

Glawe was trying to take selfies with her ball python, Bart, when he did something he has never done before. He slithered into the hole in Glawe's earlobe and got stuck.

"I kind of went into shock," she says. "I started shaking."

Glawe called for help. Firefighters rushed over to the house, but they could not help her. She then went to the emergency room. Staff numbed her ear and got to work.

"I guess they used some string and ran it between my ear and the snake and stretched my ear out more and pulled him back through," she described.

Glawe shared her story on Facebook and it has since gone viral.

Daytime highs for the interior valleys are backing off from triple digits on Monday. Temperatures for California Valley and Shandon will get close to 100 degrees on Monday, but right now daytime highs will range from the upper 80s to upper 90s. High pressure over the area is moving to the east, which is allowing for those interior valleys to cool down this week. However, with extremely dry live and dead fuel paired with gusty onshore winds, fire weather danger remains to be of concern...
