Cuesta College expanding its Ag Business Transfer Degree program

Posted: Updated:

Agriculture classes at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo are pretty full these days and the school is set to expand its offerings.

The classes, which are transferable for university credit, are 93 percent full as the school prepares to launch an Agricultural Certificate Degree Program in Plant Science.

There are more than 150 agriculture business majors taking courses that can prepare them for a variety of specialties.

“We have incredible ag programs. Students are getting a taste of ag and want to do more,” said Amy Stapp, an agriculture business faculty member at Cuesta College.

Cuesta also held for the first time on Monday the regional meeting for the California Agricultural Teaches Association (CATA). Teachers and students from all over California attended to discuss agriculture and education topics.
