The St. Joseph High School cross country team is being highlighted in a PBS show for its partnership with the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter.

The team gained national media attention last year after Coach Luis Escobar posted a video on social media showing his students running with dogs from the shelter in Santa Maria.

Now, the story is being featured in an episode of the PBS show "Shelter Me: Community Matters." The show is hosted by Dr. Jane Goodall and tells the stories of shelter pets and the people who help them.

To celebrate, a special premiere of the episode will be shown at St. Joseph High School on Saturday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $12. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation.
