Allan Hancock College celebrates International Women's Day

Posted: Updated:

In honor of International Women's Day, Allan Hancock College celebrated with events Wednesday.

Celebrations included guest speakers, performers, and food at the Santa Maria campus. The theme this year was "Be Bold for Change" focusing on empowering, respecting, and appreciating women.

"It is an activity built on bringing people together and breaking down those barriers that separate or isolate us from one another," said Joelyn Lutz, a guest speaker. "When those are broken, people begin to see we are more alike than we are different."

There is a free concert from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in room C-40 on the Santa Maria campus.
