Arroyo Grande native Jordan Hasay finishes 3rd at Boston Marathon, sets record

Posted: Updated:

Arroyo Grande native and former Mission College Prep athlete Jordan Hasay finished third among women at the Boston Marathon on Monday.

It was her first marathon and her time of 2:23:00 set a debut record for an American woman. She's also now the fourth fastest American woman ever at the Boston Marathon.

Hasay attended the University of Oregon and currently lives in Portland.

She finished Monday's race behind Edna Kiplagat of Kenya and Rose Chelimo of Bahrain. Desiree Linden finished fourth, making this the first time since 1991 that two U.S. women have finished in the top four.
