Evan Lalanne excited to thank rescue team, supporters at upcoming fundraiser

Posted: Updated:

A big event is planned to help the young man who's paralyzed following a fall on Bishop Peak.

Evan Lalanne, his aunt and grandma are planning the auction and barbecue dinner for this Saturday night at the Alex Madonna Expo Center in San Luis Obispo.

"I can't wait to see the rescue teams and everybody who I wasn't able to really thank because everything was so crazy right off the bat," Lalanne told KSBY about the upcoming event. "I can't wait to see them and I can't wait to really see everyone who's been showing love and support for me. I haven't been able to meet them face-to-face and that's really going to be something that I really look forward to."

Saturday's live auction includes trips to Costa Rica, Hawaii and Scottsdale.

There are dozens more prizes for the silent auction.

Organizers say all the money raised will go to pay Lalanne's medical bills.
