Five injured in head-on collision on Hwy 154 at Windy Gap

Five people were injured in a major crash on Highway 154 at Windy Gap Wednesday afternoon.

Santa Barbara County Fire says five vehicles were involved in a head-on collision around 3:20 p.m. SB County Fire responded with California Highway Patrol, paramedics and Los Padres Fire Service.

Dave Zaniboni, the public information officer for SB County Fire, says all vehicles received major damage. Three people were sent to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries, and two complained of minor injuries but refused to be treated.

The events leading up to the crash are unknown at this time.

CHP is the investigating agency. The road is currently closed.

No word yet if any citations will be issued.
