The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says a felon authorities have been searching for over the last year is now behind bars once again.

Joshua Warren was reportedly taken into custody Wednesday night after leaving a home in Lompoc.

The sheriff's office says a warrant was issued for the 42-year-old's arrest after he reportedly violated his community supervision conditions and repeated attempts to find him were unsuccessful.

The sheriff's office says deputies and probation officers worked together to locate Warren, who they say recently served time in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Officials say a search warrant was issued after a member of the Compliance Response Team located Warren in Lompoc Wednesday and saw him arrive at the 800 block of W. Apricot Street.

The sheriff's office says, based on Warren's "substantial criminal history, which included firearm possession and crimes of violence," the decision was made to bring in the sheriff's Special Enforcement Team to serve the search warrant at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

They say Warren was taken into custody minutes later.

Also arrested at the home was Jose Morales, 26, of Lompoc. Officials say he had a warrant out for his arrest after allegedly violating the terms of his community supervision, which reportedly stemmed from an assault with a deadly weapon incident.

The investigation into Warren continues and the sheriff's office says anyone who may know of unreported incidents over the last year involving the convicted felon should contact the Compliance Response Team at CRTinfo@sbsheriff.org.
