Authorities are looking for a man who robbed a Carpinteria bank Thursday evening.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded at about 5:20 p.m. to Montecito Bank and Trust on the 1000 block of Casitas Pass Road after a silent alarm had been activated there.

Officials say they reviewed video surveillance and talked to witnesses and determined the man had handed the teller a note demanding money.

The sheriff's office says, once the man was given an undisclosed amount of case, he ran off. They add that no weapon was seen during the incident.

The area was searched, but authorities were unable to locate the man, described as being white or Hispanic, between 50- and 60-years-old, 5'9'' to 5'11'' and around 250 pounds.

Officials say he was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, sunglasses and a black baseball hat that had a green "Zoo York" emblem on it.

Anyone with information on who the man is or where he might be is asked to call (805) 681-4150. Anonymous tips can be made by calling (805) 681-4171 or by clicking here
