Postal workers to collect food donations as part of Stamp Out Hunger
The 25th annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive is happening on Saturday. It is a national fundraiser by the United States Postal Service.
The National Association of Letter Carriers encourages you to set out your non-perishable food by your mailbox before your letter carrier's normal pick-up time on Saturday. If you don't know the time, try to do it before 9 a.m.
PG&E donated bags to the event that were sent out by mail to San Luis Obispo residents. They are encouraged to fill their bags with nutritious canned goods, then leave them outside next to their mailboxes.
All the items donated will go to the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County to be distributed to hundreds of families in need across the county.
