A Grover Beach woman, who had a warrant out for her arrest, is now behind bars and facing multiple counts of child cruelty.

Kathryn Louise Tatum, 26, was wanted after Grover Beach police say, last month, she left her three young children in the custody of a man who was later arrested for drug possession and prowling.

Following the man's arrest on April 27, the children were handed over to Child Welfare Services.

Grover Beach police announced Tuesday that a $250,000 arrest warrant had been issued for Tatum. Police say she was taken into custody late Wednesday morning after someone told authorities she was at Vons on the 700 block of W. Grand Avenue.

Jail logs showed she remained in custody at San Luis Obispo County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
