Leave the car parked, hop on your bike for National Bike to Work Day

Posted: Updated:

Ditch your car, grab a helmet and hop on your bike. It's National Bike to Work Day.

The day is an effort to improve health, save money and reduce traffic.

Friday morning, nearly a dozen commuter stations across San Luis Obispo County will be open to anyone on a bike.

Riders will be offered free breakfast and other giveaways.

There will also be a Bike to Work day evening after part at the SLO Guild Hall from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at 2880 Broad Street. The party is free to attend and will include food, drinks, a fashion show and silent auction.
