Woman arrested for attempted murder, cutting ex-boyfriend's throat in SLO

Posted: Updated:

A 40-year-old woman is facing charges of attempted murder after deputies say she "cut her ex-boyfriend's throat" at Bishop Peak Saturday.

The San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office says deputies were called about a 55-year-old man who was bleeding from the neck at the trailhead on Foothill Boulevard just before 7 p.m.

The man told deputies that his ex-girlfriend had cut his throat.

He was taken to the hospital, treated and then released.

Deputies found Erika Christine Deherrera later that night and arrested her.

Deherrera was booked into the county jail on charges of attempted murder.
