Lompoc City Fire Department says a family is displaced after a fire started in the back of their home Sunday evening.
Firefighters got the home on the 400 block of South M Street at about 7:30 p.m.
Battalion Chief Brian Federmann says the home suffered 'moderate to severe' damage. No one was home at the time of the blaze and the family's animals were outside.
Fire crews knocked down the flames within ten minutes, according to the fire department.
The family denied help from the Red Cross and will be staying with family members.
Santa Barbara County and Vandenberg Fire Departments both assisted in knocking down the flames.
