A portion of Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo County could soon be dedicated to the late SLO Stringer Matthew Frank.
Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham introduced a resolution this week that would allow for the dedication of the highway to Frank from Avila Beach Drive to Spyglass Drive.
"He chased breaking news across the Central Coast, reporting on social media with tremendous talent," Cunningham said in a press release announcing the resolution. "Through social media, Matthew provided the community with real-time information on current events, on road closures, on crime, and on fires. I speak on behalf of all San Luis Obispo County when I say he will be dearly missed."
Frank's SLOStringer Facebook page highlighted the work being done by local law enforcement and firefighters.
The 30-year-old died in a crash March 21 of this year on Highway 101 near Santa Margarita while on his way to cover the breaking news of an early-morning house fire in Atascadero.
