Every year is different from the next, at least that's what the crew of Circus Vargas says.
Tents and equipment started going up next to the Madonna Inn just two days before the event begins.
The first Circus Vargas performance of the year will be this Friday, with multiple shows every day until July 10.
This year it's a "retro-futuristic production" with characters and gadgets all in steam-punk science fiction-fashion.
"It's really up close and personal; that the story means something," said Katya Quiroga, Circus Vargas executive vice president. "You know, in this situation it's like Circus versus steam punk, and they kind of clash, but at the end we can all come together and be one."
