The Hill Fire that broke out near Santa Margarita Monday afternoon is now 100 percent contained, according to CAL FIRE.
The fire burned a total of 1,598 acres and destroyed four homes.
CAL FIRE says they are in the process of releasing crews and most of the firefighters will be out of the area by Friday night. CAL FIRE will be doing some cleaning up the area tomorrow and will be patrolling the area throughout the next several days.
The Hill Fire was reported shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday along Parkhill Road near Rue de Leon. Two fires were initially reported in the area and later merged into one.
More than 250 people were evacuated and numerous road were closed. Since then, all residents have been allowed to return home and the roads are open.
