Evacuated residents from the Stone Fire returned Monday, some relieved to find their homes still standing while others discovered nothing but ash.

The roadway into Black Mountain RV Park and Campgrounds in Creston is painted pink with retardant covering cars, trailers, and toys. Inside, residents discovered what isn't pink is black and charred.

Seven structures were destroyed in the fire that broke out Sunday afternoon off Huer Huero Road east of Santa Margarita - one house, one shop, one barn, and four trailer homes. One of those trailer homes belonged to Patty Leon.

"My trailer is gone, but people around here need moral support more. I can't think of me, I have to think of them because a lot of people have lost a lot," she said.

Leon told KSBY News she was renting a mobile home nearby and had recently moved into the trailer. She was evacuated during the Hill Fire just two weeks ago. Her trailer was spared last time, but this time it went up in flames.

"It's going to be really hard because I have nowhere else to go now. I may have to put a tent up if they let me," she said.

Other evacuated residents returned with their fingers crossed, hoping their home was still standing. Billy Forzetting was one of the lucky ones. The fire stopped just feet from his trailer.

"You can't go into town and rent an apartment. This is all I got, just like everybody else - this is all they got," he said.

Firefighters continue to clear hot spots as residents work to pick up the pieces.

"Just pray for everybody here," Leon said. "They need all the prayers they can get."
