The district police chief for Allan Hancock College has sent in his resignation.

Chief Paul Grohowski's last day will be July 31.

Superintendent Kevin Walthers offered this statement after the board received his resignation during a regularly scheduled meeting:

"On behalf of Allan Hancock College, I would like to thank Paul Grohowski for his dedication and service to the college, our students and staff. One of his initial duties was to evaluate the college police department and recommend how to make the college safe and secure as possible. He accomplished those tasks and many others, and we wish him well on his future endeavors."

The reason behind his resignation was not made available. However, he did raise alarms surrounding staffing concerns just last month
