Firefighters are mopping up a small brush fire that broke out Thursday morning north of Los Alamos.

Just after 8:00 a.m., Santa Barbara County Fire officials say three separate spot fires sparked below power lines in the 6700 block of Cat Canyon Road.

Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni said the fire was burning on property leased to an oil company.

Three fire engines, a dozer, one hand crew and a battalion chief responded to the fire.

The fire burned about four acres before firefighters were able to stop it.

Full containment of the fire is expected before 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated.

No structures were ever threatened by the fire and no one was injured.
