Lawyers presented their closing statements Thursday in the trial of one of the teens accused of setting fire to the computer lab at San Luis Obispo High School.

Jacob Ruth is accused of burglarizing and starting a fire at the high school, just days before a larger fire was set that ultimately destroyed the computer lab.

Defense attorneys asked the jury to convict Ruth on a lesser charge for the smaller fire.

They argued Ruth's actions were not malicious, but just reckless.

The defense says Ruth should be found not guilty in the computer lab fire because there is no proof to show he started it.
