Sentencing is scheduled to take place this fall for the woman charged with embezzling more than $1 million from her former employer.

Elizabeth Shaw, 68, was arrested in April following a 10-month-long investigation.

Prosecutors say the embezzlement happened at Cambria-based Winsor Construction over the course of 12 years.

This week, the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office says Shaw pleaded no contest to the 12 grand theft counts against her.

She was initially facing a maximum sentence of 16 years and four months in state prison if convicted, but it was not immediately clear if that changed with this week's plea.

Jail logs show Shaw has been in custody at San Luis Obispo County Jail since May.

Sentencing is set for October 16.
