Posted: Updated:

The city of Santa Maria will be holding its first "Pride Celebration" this Saturday.

House of Pride and Equality is teaming up with Central Coast Future Leaders for the event.

There will be food, games, activities, and of course, a ton of colors. Rep. Salud Carbajal is said to make an appearance around 1 p.m.

"On Saturday we will celebrate an exciting new step forward of acceptance and public support for the vibrant LGBTQ+ community in Santa Maria and across the Central Coast," Carbajal said. "As a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community, I will continue to partner with the community and work to build on the progress we've made in the fight for full equality."

Activities will be at the Town Center West parking lot from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
