CAL FIRE was assisting crews at Camp Roberts fighting a brush fire that broke out late Friday afternoon.

The fire reportedly broke out in the middle of the California Army National Guard base.

By 5:40 p.m., it had reportedly burned about 200 acres. About an hour later, CAL FIRE said the fire was 20-percent contained.

It wasn't until shortly after 8 p.m. that CAL FIRE announced the fire was fully contained at approximately 1,000 acres.

Several KSBY viewers in Paso Robles and Templeton said smoke from the fire was present in their communities, affecting their breathing and turning the sky red at sunset.
