A kayaker was found alive in Lompoc after emergency crews performed a 'precautionary search' near Spooners Cove in Montana De Oro Park Saturday afternoon.
The man told officials his kayak capsized and a friend he was fishing with picked him up to bring him home safely.
Authorities say the man thought his kayak had sunk, but it ended up washing ashore where a hiker found it.
Officials say they searched the land and water after a woman reported an unattended kayak around 5:30 p.m.
They say the water search is over for right now. It's very foggy here, helicopter went back as well. @KSBY pic.twitter.com/6dFardShAI— Megan Abundis (@meganrabundis) August 27, 2017
