Brush fire contained near Lopez Lake

A brushA brush fire broke out Friday night near Lopez Lake, providing some tense moments for drivers and others nearby.

Firefighters from CAL FIRE SLO responded shortly after 8 p.m. and were able to bring the half-acre Lobo Fire under control relatively quickly, but not before an orange glow from the fire lit up the night and alarmed many near the lake.

A KSBY viewer captured the scene on video from a car that was driving by. Around the 1:10 mark, you can see the fire moving up the hillside and firefighters working to put out the flames. Karen Nguyen shared the video to KSBY's Facebook page Friday night.

The fire broke out near the intersection of Ditmas Way and Lopez Drive, according to a map provided by CAL FIRE SLO.

No injuries were reported and no information was released regarding what may have started the fire.
