Pismo Pier to Plunge returning in 2018

If you're a runner, walker, beach go-er, or just someone who likes to support a good cause, keep you calendar open for New Year's Day.

Arroyo Grande native and Mission Prep grad, Jordan Hasay, has teamed up with Michael Moore of 'Moore Recovery' for the second annual 'Pismo Pier to Plunge'.

The youth and adult 5K run/walk starts at historic Pismo Beach Pier and ends, if you're daring, with a plunge into the ocean. The first 100 men and 100 women to cross the finish and take the polar plunge will a special beanie.

Michael and Jordan say the event is a perfect way to give back to the community, and they've chosen 'Transitions Mental Heath' as this year's beneficiary.

"We all are affected by mental health, stress, and mental wellness," Moore said. "I see it on the front lines of my work. It's really an honor to be apart of this and have someone with a special spirit like Jordan to be at the forefront of that."

"This community has been such a huge support to me over the years and everyone has always followed my running career," Hasay added. "It's just really important and an honor for me to be able to meet the community and give back to the local runners."
