Slight thunderstorm chances Sunday and Monday otherwise mildly muggy

Posted: Updated:

More marine layer returns tonight into Friday morning and areas of drizzle are even possible.  I think Friday afternoon winds look a little stronger so the clearing should be decent with temps in the range similar to today, Saturday looks very much like Friday.

Sunday and Monday are interesting in that a mid-level low will retrograde off the CA coastline, this should draw some monsoon moisture into the area.  There is a chance of showers or thunderstorms Sunday and Monday but not the widespread threat last weekend was.  The reason for the difference is that last week we had tropical storm leftovers and much higher temps to destabilize the atmosphere, this weekend the threat looks minor and probably most significant at higher elevations.  If rain were to develop it would be scattered and produce less than .25"

The muggy weather could extend into the middle of next week, but high temps look near seasonal.
