The Orcutt Academy 8-man high school football team prepares for it's Week 2 battle with defending Div. 1 champion, Mojave.

Orcutt and Mojave come into the Friday Night match up undefeated; the Spartans defeated Price and Flintridge Prep to start the season. Orcutt's offense has been impressive so far this year, averaging 55 points per game and over 300 yards of total offense, 287 of that on the ground.

The Spartans defense has given up just 23 points in return, including a shutout in Week 1. Orcutt says their ready for the challenge of facing a tough Mojave squad.

"We got four of the top five times on our preseason schedule this year to kind of see what we have and what kind of character we have," Orcutt head coach Doug May said. "So far, these guys have really stepped up. They want this game. We're going to go to work tomorrow night, and so we'll see how the ending comes."

"We definitely have to get prepared for it all," Orcutt quarterback Darin Miller added. "I think we're getting into the mindset. We know what we've got to do to get there."

Orcutt and Mojave are set for a 7:00pm kickoff at Pioneer Valley High School in Santa Maria.
