Local PG&E workers helping restore power in Florida

Posted: Updated:

Some local PG&E workers are in Florida helping restore power to the millions currently without.

Six employees from the company's general construction group in Los Padres are among 125 PG&E workers in Florida.

They arrived in advance of Hurricane Irma with a focus on helping restore power after the storm hit.

PG&E says the six local employees sent regularly work to restore power after electrical outages.

The Associated Press reports that, according to Florida Power and Light, some people in Florida could be without power for weeks due to the extensive damage from the hurricane.
