More than 50 animals adopted from SLO Co. Animal Services

Posted: Updated:

More than 50 animals were adopted from the San Luis Obispo County Animal Services during their half-off event last week.

Shelter officials say that is a huge success, considering they were nearing capacity at the beginning of September.

"100 animals in the shelter in every nook and cranny," said Andrea Liddie, the shelter supervisor. KSBY spoke with her when overcrowding became a problem for the shelter.

The shelter had an influx of animals taken from cruelty cases and an unusual increase in animals surrendered by the owners.

They knew something had to be done.

After getting word out about their half-off adoption price special, families and residents took more pets home.

Animal Services is located at 885 Oklahoma Avenue in San Luis Obispo.
