Cal Poly again named best in the west

U.S. News & World Report has once again named Cal Poly San Luis Obispo the best public, master's-level university in the West.

The publication recently released its annual America's Best Colleges guidebook, which ranks U.S. colleges and universities in nearly 50 different categories.

This is the 25th straight year Cal Poly has received the honor.

Overall, the university is ranked 11th in the West for regional universities, its College of Engineering ranked 7th on the list of best engineering master's/bachelor's programs in the nation, and the university was ranked 6th in the West for most veteran-friendly universities.

U.C. Santa Barbara ranked 8th within the University of California system, placed 37th on the list of Best National Universities, ranked 14th for Least Debt and 13th for Best Ethnic Diversity.

Westmont College in Santa Barbara tied for 96th place on the list of best liberal arts colleges.
