Muggy air lingering but Thursday afternoon we will make a transition

Posted: Updated:

The upper low pinwheeling off the coast continues to keep us with plenty of cloud cover and occasional mist and drizzle.  The dew points (a measure of moisture in the air) are also quite high.  The low will push over the area overnight and pass us to the east tomorrow.  Once we are on the back side of the low the NW winds will help usher in more typical dew points in the 50s.  On balance, the high temps won't change much moving forward, a lot of 70s with beaches in the 60s.  Most temps slightly below seasonal norms.

While the breeze picks up Thursday and Friday into the 15-25mph range at times in the afternoon, Monday and Tuesday looks even windier with 30-35mph potential, perhaps even higher.  Skies will clear out and temps stay slightly cooler than average.  We warm a bit later next week with some upper air ridging in the eastern Pacific but not a heat wave.
