Undefeated Bishop Diego football seeks revenge against St. Joseph

Posted: Updated:

The Bishop Diego High School football program will head north for its third straight road game to take on St. Joseph in KSBY's FNH Week 3 Game of the Week.

The Cardinals are currently 3-0 and have outscored its opponents 96-17 in its last three games.

Cardinals' quarterback Jake Engel also carries a strong arm, recording 387 yards and five touchdowns so far this season. Bishop Diego also likes to spread its offensive scheme, having four different players score touchdowns in its last 45-3 win over Nipomo.

The Cardinals acknowledge the challenges for Friday's game against St. Joseph; last year the Knights' snapped the Cardinals' three game winning streak, 21-17.

"Last year they sort of stole it from us, so we're definitely looking to go out there and get it back. Sort of get some revenge," said John Harris, Cardinals senior running back.

"It could be a real challenge for us, they're very athletic," said Tom Crawford, Cardinals head football coach. "They have some really good speed, good size, and aggressive. We're going to have to match that in order to have a chance."

Kick off is at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph High School.
