150 homes still threatened by Rucker Fire

Posted: Updated:

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said Saturday morning 150 homes were still threatened by the Rucker Fire burning in the Mission Hills area near Lompoc.

While the fire was estimated Friday night to have burned nearly 600 acres, fire officials Saturday said that number had been revised down to 441 acres. The blaze is now 60 percent contained.

While all evacuation orders have been lifted, road closures are still in place in the fire area.

More than 500 firefighters remain on scene as crews work to gain full containment.

No structures have burned and the cause is said to be unknown at this time.
