Three homes caught fire Monday night in the Lake Nacimiento area, fire officials reported.

The Meadow Fire began shortly after 7:30 p.m. with a report of a fire at a home at 4250 Allen Road in the Tri-Counties community.

Chris Elms with CAL FIRE SLO said late Monday night the two-alarm fire destroyed two homes and damaged a third, which is still standing. Earlier he reported it was two homes and a garage that burned, but it now appears all of the structures were houses, Elms said.

One resident was in one of the homes at the time of the fire. That person was able to escape and was not injured, Elms said.

Firefighters contained the fire to the three structures and were expected to remain in the neighborhood until 11 p.m. to mop up the fire.

Power lines were reported down and eight fire engines from multiple agencies including the San Miguel, Paso Robles, and Templeton fire departments were assisting. CHP was helping with traffic control.

The 4200 block of Allen Road was also the site of a different fire last month. Monday night's fire was about a block away from the September 23 fire. Elms said the fires appear to be unrelated.

The cause of the Meadow Fire is under investigation.
