Authorities identify man found dead in mobile home fire on Nipomo Mesa

Officials have released the name of the man found dead inside a mobile home that caught fire last week on the Nipomo Mesa.

He has been identified as Steven Rudd of Arroyo Grande.

The fire broke out in the early-morning hours of September 25 on the 1100 block of Mesa View Drive. Officials say the mobile home, located behind a ranch house, was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. 

According to CAL FIRE SLO, Rudd was in his early 40s. His cause of death has not yet been determined. 

The cause of the fire also remains under investigation.
