Temps warm up in response to building high pressure

Posted: Updated:

Last couple days temps took a hit with a trough across the western U.S. but that has lifted out and building high pressure is producing clear skies and offshore winds in the night and morning hours.  Those winds turn NW each afternoon at about 15-20mph.  Thursday and Friday look like the warmest days in the upcoming forecast with inland temps and some coastal valleys into the 90s.  Beaches during this period should be in the mid 70s.

Onshore flow returns Sunday through Tuesday of next week for a cooldown near the coast with night and morning marine clouds returning.

Models show some moisture trying to sneak in about 10 days from now, but I wouldn’t get excited about it yet.  Looks like a dry run for the most part.
