Templeton hosts Nipomo in Northern League opener

Posted: Updated:

The Templeton football program will host Nipomo on Friday night in Week 6 of the CIF football season. It's the Eagles' homecoming game.

Templeton finished non-league play with a 2-4 record including back-to-back-back home losses to Santa Ynez and Lompoc. The Eagles are coming off a season in which they went 2-2 in the Northern League, one of those defeats was at Nipomo.

The Eagles know its remaining four league games will be super competitive every Friday night.

"Four years ago, I think, it came down to three teams having one loss and each team lost by a point," Templeton head coach Tyler Lane said. "I just see this year being the same way. It's going to be decided by a play here and there who the league champion is this year. I'm excited about this year and the kids are really excited."

"It's very important because this determines whether we make it farther off in the season, or not," Templeton senior receiver Isaiah Harrold added. "These next four games are really important. I mean, we've seen the best of the best and we've been at our worst. I think we'll be prepared for what we're about to do this week."

Templeton and Nipomo will kick off Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
