Warm temps continue into the weekend

Posted: Updated:

A ridge of high pressure will continue to drive locally gusty night and morning offshore winds.  The high pressure also causing sinking air which warms.  The airmass is also quite dry which means overnight lows inland can drop into the 30s even though the highs can reach the 90s.  This prolonged warm and dry event does elevate fire weather conditions.

Everywhere looks on the warm side on Friday.  Beaches could be in the mid-80s with coastal valleys into the upper 80s and lower 90s with inland temps in the lower 90s.  As I mentioned earlier the inland valleys will be cold at night but coastal areas will be different.  The offshore winds near the coast will actually prop up the overnight lows in the 50s.

This forecast holds for both Friday and Saturday but Sunday temps could drop up to 10 degrees as the ridge falters.  Temps in the lower 80s for the coastal valley with beaches in the mid-70s and inland valleys in the lower to mid-80s holds thru much of next week.

No significant signs of rain.
