The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to locate a missing 16-year-old girl from Orcutt.

Destiny Navarette was reported missing on Sept. 19. She was last seen the previous morning at Righetti High School.

Sheriff's officials believe Navarette is with her boyfriend, 18-year-old Miguel Perez De La Cruz of Guadalupe.

Perez has an active warrant out for his arrest for a probation violation and there is a criminal protective order prohibiting him from contacting Navarette.

Sheriff's officials say, earlier this year, Navarette ran away from home with Perez, and there's no indication that she's currently being held against her will.

It's believed the two may be staying in hotels in the Santa Maria area. They have also reportedly been seen recently in Guadalupe.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Perez may be driving a blue 2001 Ford minivan with a California license plate of 6VUA712.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to call the Sheriff's Office at (805) 934-6170. To leave an anonymous tip, call (805) 681-4171 or visit the sheriff's website.
