Haunted house returns to Atascadero for Halloween scares

Posted: Updated:

A popular haunted house is opening Friday in Atascadero.

The Haunt will run every Friday and Saturday night in October. This year theme is 'Zombie Town: From A-Town to Z-Town.'

Dozens of actors from makeup artists to technicians to costumed characters promise to show you a "bloody good time."

"So much attention is given to the detail on this building and it comes alive. Your brain turns off the fact that it's not real and you are immersed in that scene," said Chris Towers, technical director and co-owner of The Haunt.

The haunted house is located a half-block north of the Carlton Hotel on El Camino Real.

The Haunt will be open 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. this weekend and next weekend. It will stay open until 11 p.m. on October 20-21 and October 27-28.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here or at the door. Fast passes and family discounts are also available.
