Fire burns 35 acres near Pozo; firefighter injured

A vegetation fire burned about 35 acres near Pozo on Monday afternoon.

The fire was first reported at about 2:30 p.m. along the 3000 block of West Pozo Road, about 3.5 miles west of Pozo on the edge of the Los Padres National Forest.

West Pozo Road was closed to traffic.

By 4:50 p.m., firefighters said forward progress of the fire was stopped, but crews would remain on scene working on hot spots throughout the rest of the day and into Tuesday.

Officials said one firefighter was injured by a fallen tree but was expected to be okay.
