Cal Poly volleyball cracks national top 25 for first time since 2008

Posted: Updated:

For the first time since 2008, the Cal Poly volleyball team has been ranked in the AVCA National Top 25 rankings.

The Mustangs were ranked No. 24 in the latest poll, (week seven) the AVCA announced Monday. The last time they were ranked inside the top 25 was week six of the 2008 season when they were No. 22 in the country.

This week they ranked ahead of teams such as Baylor, Western Kentucky, Michigan and Colorado.

Cal Poly also moved up in the NCAA Women's Volleyball RPI rankings. The Mustangs moved up three spots from its No. 28 ranking last week to No. 25 this week.

The team will look to continue its success this weekend as they travel down to Santa Barbara to play UCSB Saturday at 5 p.m.
