Food delivery service 'UberEATS' heads to Santa Barbara

Posted: Updated:

A new food delivery service has made its way up to the Central Coast - at least to Santa Barbara - and customers know it as UberEATS.

Uber, the ride-sharing company, will start delivering food in Santa Barbara Wednesday within their UberEATS app.

So far, the company says at least 30 local restaurants are participating, including South Coast Deli, On The Alley, Caje and more.

UberEATS, first called UberFRESH, started in August 2014 with the idea that drivers could pick up the food a rider is craving and deliver it to them.

Once the app is up and running, all you have to do is:

  • Download the free UberEATS app (on iOS or Android)
  • Login with your existing Uber account
  • Pick a restaurant
  • Pay with your card on file
  • Watch the app as your order is picked up and delivered

UberEATS is not available everywhere.
