Temps slowly rise but then jump Sunday

Posted: Updated:

Breezy afternoon conditions are in response to high pressure building into the Central Coast after a dry frontal passage today.

Some slight changes in the forecast as to the arrival of N-NE winds across Santa Barbara County.  There will be some gusty winds at 15-25mph tonight into Thursday morning but stronger winds develop in the same area Thursday night after sunset into Friday morning and again Friday night into Saturday morning.  Those winds will be 15-30 mph with gusts to 45mph.  They will also be dry winds bringing in low relative humidities 5-15% during the day.  This has prompted a fire weather warning to be posted for that time frame.

Elsewhere some light to moderate night and morning winds will produce generally clear skies and mild temps at the coast (70-80).  Inland it is interesting, cool overnight into Thursday with the lows in the upper 30s but Friday and Saturday morning could be near freezing inland due to the dryness of the air (yet still recover into the lower 80s).

Sunday and Monday highs near the coast will be 80-90 with inland temps also just shy of 90 before cooling a bit into the middle of next week.

Models hint at a frontal passage and slight rain change near the 20th, but it looks meager if it happens at all.
